Pedagogy, the study of teaching methods, including the aims of education and the ways in which such goals may be achieved. Pedagogy is defined simply as the method, and practice, of teaching. Pedagogy is the relationship between learning techniques and culture, and is determined based on an educator’s beliefs about how learning should, and does, take place. Pedagogy requires meaningful classroom interactions and respect between educators and learners. Pedagogy is a way of being and interacting that involves: • joining with others to bring flourishing and relationship to life (animation) • being concerned about their, and other’s, needs and wellbeing, and taking practical steps to help (caring); In contemporary discourse, the word pedagogy is used sometimes to describe learning theory and other times used to describe the practice of such theory. teaching, schooling, tuition, tutoring, instruction, pedagogy, andragogy, coaching, training, tutelage, drilling, preparation, guidance, indoctrination, inculcation What is pedagogy?
